Community – police partnership underscored in decreased crime
LAGAWE, Ifugao --The decreasing crime volume in the province can be attributed to the exceptional partnership between the police and the community.
Police provincial director Senior Superintendent Constancio Chinayog, Jr. reported from January to June 2017, a total of 214 crime incidents were recorded compared to the 310 cases in the same period in 2016.
This is largely ascribed to the sustained efforts undertaken by Ifugao police provincial office (IPPO) in engaging local government units and multisectoral groups.
However, Ifugao PNP needs to sustain the capability and capacity build-up efforts to polish the skills of investigators and case officers in the management of serious crimes as to their crime solution efficiency.
Supt. Allan Guyguyon, meanwhile, enjoined the punong barangays of Poblacions East, North, South, West including barangays Burnay, Boliwong, Cudog and Tunggod to support the peace and order program of the PNP by not allowing the presence of armed groups or underground revolution in their respective areas.
The village leaders assured the PNP their support and reiterated that they are also strictly implementing municipal and barangays ordinances for the maintenance of peace and order in the municipality and the province as a whole.
