Baguio booter earns slot in Bayern Munich training camp
BAGUIO City High School’s Aeron Christian Tenollar will join 15 others out of the 49 for a one week training camp with FC Bayern Munich in Germany for the Allianz Junior Football Camp (AJFC).
Coach Aries Bocalan announced the good news during the weekend after Tenollar was picked to join the training camp from August 17 to 12 following the Allianz Junior Football Asian Camp in Bali, Indonesia, just last week.
Prior to seeing action in Germany, Tenollar earlier earned a slot in the Indonesia camp after the National Youth Futsal Cup (NYFC) organized by Allianz, Philippine Football Federation (PFF) and the Henry V. Moran Foundation last May.
The camp will feature a four-day football training program that will focus on a player’s fitness, footwork and tactical skills.
Premier German football club FC Bayern Munich will facilitate the camp, and players will train under Bayern Munich youth coach Maximillian Knauer and Giovane Elber.
Elber is a retired Brazilian striker who scored close to a hundred goals for Bayern during his six-year stint with the team.
The grade nine student has been active in football since he was nine years old, according to Bocalan and has been scouted by college schools in Manila.
Joining Tenollar is Jan Meir Mitra of La Salle Zobel.
The AJFC program started in 2009 by German insurance company Allianz in partnership with the Die Roten as part of their dedication to youth development. Roderick Osis
