Benguet National High School-Main celebrates Nutrition Month
TO SUPPORT the advocacy of the enactment of national and local legislation/policies supportive of an enabling environment for healthy diets, the BeNHS-Main celebrates the Nutrition Month last July 03, 2017 to July 31, 2017. This year’s theme, “Healthy Diet, Gawing Habit for Life”, emphasized on the importance of nutrition among different age groups.
The celebration highlighted the different skills competition participated by the junior and senior high school students. The different skills competed are the following: Poster Making, Slogan Making, Dish Gardening, Cooking Skills, Food Fair, Essay Writing Contest, Search for the Most and Clean Green Classroom. Other skills competed also are Basic First Aid, Picture Frame Making, PC Assembly with Configuration & Networking, Apron Making. The TLE teachers with different specializations served as contest coordinators of the concluded competitions.
During the culminating program, Ms. Ermalyn Masweng talked about the increase awareness on the importance of healthy diets to prevent malnutrition and contribute to the reduction of overweight and obesity and non-communicable diseases; distinguish between healthy and unhealthy foods for better food choices; produce and make available healthier food options.
The said activity ended up with awarding of certificates and prizes of the winners in the different contests.
