THE second state of the Nation address of President Rodrigo Duterte is one of the longest SONA in terms of words, according to some speech specialist­s.

Most of the time President Duterte speaks from the heart and don’t rely on the speech written for him. He frankly brings out his words and what is in his mind, good or bad to concerned people.

During his SONA the president emphasized on the fight against illegal drugs which is according to him is the root of all kinds of criminalit­y. He started campaigns against illegal drugs and he reiterated not to stop until it will be finally resolved. According to the president the illegal drugs weakens the entry of foreign investment­s in the country. This will hinder the growth of the country’s economy. Many already have suffered and will still suffer.

President Duterte also mentioned of the bad effects of illegal mining. Our environmen­t will be damaged and nearby community will be affected. Their livelihood and health have already been affected.

The president said that our country is rich in minerals and this will be of great help for local and internatio­nal purposes.

According to the president our government earns 70 billion pesos but this is small because mining companies earns more.

He warned the mining companies to be responsibl­e for the preservati­on of the watersheds, forest and aquatic resources.

The president clarified he allowed mining to those who complied with the proper documents required by the law.

The president is at his best for the safety of the country and to sum it up he wants the people to uplift their life, clean and legal.
