Negosyo Center opens in Balbalan town
BALBALAN, Kalinga – The Department of Trade and Industry provincial office opened the fourth Negosyo Center in the province in this town.
DTI-Cordillera Director Myrna Pablo, who led the opening, said the center is established for small entrepreneurs interested to open their enterprise in the locality.
As contained in the Negosyo Act, government promotes small business that would usher sources of income and employment in the grassroot to help push economic growth, Pablo explained.
Interested business applicants can directly seek advice at the center on matters of business application requirements, credit sources and other related needs in business operation, she said.
Balbalan Mayor Ruben Dongui-is vowed full support saying the municipal government is ready to provide whatever counterpart required for the program.
On the other hand, Acting Governor James Edduba cited the on-going road improvement project of the provincial government as prime tool in connecting upland towns of the province to the center.
Through good roads, trade and other economic projects would just develop in the place, which is the top agenda of the provincial government, he said.
DTI-Kalinga established the first Negosyo Center at its provincial office in 2015, the second at the Tabuk City Hall in 2016, and third in Rizal town early this year. Larry Lopez/ PIA – CAR
