BFP-CAR celebrates 26th anniversary
FIRE fighters in the Cordillera are encouraged to continue enhancing their skills in fire protection and in saving lives.
Bureau of Fire Protection acting chief C/ Supt. Leonard Banago called on officers and personnel of the BFP-Cordillera Administrative Region to always be ready to respond to the various needs being asked from the BFP by the public and the nation.
“The BFP should always be ready to extend their duties and services in providing a safe nation against fires and disasters for the betterment of the country,” Banago said in his keynote message during the 26th BFPCAR anniversary celebration last week.
Banago stressed there is a need to undertake efforts that will help the community to mitigate disaster risks and build resiliency.
“The BFP is now advancing its position where it can provide higher level of protection that can ensure public safety by investing on the right tools equipment and training to make us a skilled individual. This is being done in making that funds will be utilized and be used properly living no room for corruption,” he said.
“Patuloy tayong magsisikap upang matugunan ang karampatang serbisyo na akma sa panahon, at patuloy nating linangin ang ating kakayahan, sa pagsugpo sa sunog at pag aralan natin ang paggamit ng ating makabagong teknolohiya,” he added.
Banago also highlighted the support of President Rodrigo Duterte to the bureau and the promise he made during the anniversary celebration at the national headquarters recently.

and increase in salary. He also assured that the BFP will get what is allotted for them in the national budget.
Meanwhile, the BFPCAR led by regional director S/Supt. Maria Sofia Mendoza recognized its partners during the program for their support to the BFP such as the donation of lots, funds and equipment for the establishment of fire stations in the municipalities and provinces.
Among the awardees are the LGUs of Baguio City; Hingyon and Lagawe in Ifugao; Tublay, Kapangan and Itogon in Benguet; Bontoc, Paracelis, Tadian and Sagada in Mountain Province, and Manabo, San Isidro, Pilar, Bucloc, Tubo, Langiden, Boliney, Malibcong and Tineg in Abra.
Recognized from the private sector are the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines in Bontoc, Arthur Agpad of Sadanga, Agustin Yaos of Bauko in Mountain Province; Robert Kitongan, Carmen Tabanganay and Jerome Tabanganay of Tabuk City, Kalinga and the Philippine Military Academy.
