City High tops CGFC August futsal tilt

BAGUIO City High School schooled their rivals anew as it took home the Cordillera Goshenland Football Club monthly futsal tournament held over the weekend.

Placing second is Quezon Hill Phoenix C while BCHS B, and Quezon Hill Phoenix B settled for third and fourth place respective­ly in the one day tournament held at the Middle Quezon Hill and Victoria Village covered courts.

took home the most valuable player plum while the special awards in the boys division went to Denver Comesario (best goalkeeper), Dyrick Vicente (best defender), Rabin Rein (best play maker), John Dilinila (best striker).

In the girls division, CGFC mix took home the crown while Quezon Hill Phoenix placed second with Guisad Valley National High School settled for third place. Aveya Buenaventu­ra bagged the MVP plum and the best striker while the best goalkeeper went to Jovie Matay-on, with Kyla Nabus bagging the best defender award as Lynsel Duytec took the best playmaker honor. In the elementary division, Crystal Cave Elementary School topped the contest while Bonifacio and Doña Aurora Elementary School settled for second and third as Baguio Central salvaged fourth place

Travis Aliping was named MVP with Johnson Isican named as best goalie, and Jolly Osdawen as best defender.

According to coach Aries Bocalan, the monthly tournament aims to hone the skills of their players in preparatio­n for local and national competitio­ns such as Batang Pinoy and Palarong Pambansa. Roderick Osis
