UB Sci-High stude found dead

THE SIX day search for Vaughn Carl Dicang ended in a tragic reunion as family carried his body out from a creek of a circumfere­ntial road in barangay Balacbac.

Vaughn has been missing since September 1 when he asked permission to go see friends but never returned. A frantic search then ensued with family, friends and schoolmate­s, spreading posters in the hope to find him alive. Vaughn is a 12th grade Univeristy of Baguio Science High School student.

Lower Quirino Hill village chief Van, brother to the victim, in statement over social media confirmed “At 9:40am today, the lifeless body of my brother was found at a river near Balacbac Bridge. Our entire family would like to thank all the people who helped and prayed for him. We shall post updates in the next hours.”

Manila will be handling the case of the 17 – year - old Dicang as a full investigat­ion has been pledged by Baguio City Police Office chief Ramil Saculles.

Initial informatio­n reveals Dicang’s cellphone tablet is missing.

Saculles said the autopsy findings will be studied to determine the cause of death of Dicang.

The police chief meanwhile clarified missing person incidents are not considered cases until found or evidence has been presented to determine abduction, kidnapping or hostage.

A 19 – year - old female is also said to be missing since September 1 circulatin­g on social media. Accordingl­y, the missing lady is from the University of Baguio.

However, Saculles said the BCPO has yet to receive report on the missing girl.
