Loman seeks bantamweight crown in Brave 9

-

FINALLY, the long wait for Stephen Loman is over.

With his title clash in the Guam based Pacific Xtreme Combat dashed, Loman jumps ship to Bahrain’s Brave Combat Federation as he challenges Gurdarshan Mangat from Canada for the bantamweight championship title.

Coach Mark Sangiao said the Loman – Mangat tiff will headline Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions and will be held at Khalifa Sports City in Bahrain on November 17 as part of the 2017 Brave International Combat Week, which also features IMMAF World Championships.

With eight wins in his career, Loman is on a three fight win streak, including a victory against Frans Mlambo, one of the

sparring partners of Conor McGregor, trained by coach John Kavanagh at the SBG Gym.

The Team Lakay fighter also scored a huge upset against former PXC title contender Mark Abelardo.

Mangat on the other hand is on a sixfight win streak and in his previous fight, he defeated India’s top featherweight fighter, Abdul Muneer, in a catchweight fight that went one-sided, giving him a unanimous victory.

Mangat trains in Canada and has 10 victories in his professional career with a single loss.

Loman was supposed to fight for PXC's bantamweight tile in March earlier this year, however, the headliner was scrapped due to weight cut complications forcing defending champion Trevin Jones to pull out of his title defense.

The University of the Cordilleras student was eyed to be the second Team Lakay fighter to gun for the title in the Guam based promotions with former bantamweight champion Crisanto Pitpitunge winning the 135 lbs strap against Justin Cruz in 2012. Roderick Osis
