Ifugao cops arrest 16 wanted persons

ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao — The one-time big-time simultaneo­us operation of the Ifugao Police Provincial office resulted to the arrest of 16 wanted persons of various crimes in the different municipali­ties.

The operation includes the serving of service of warrants of arrest,

search warrants, and enforcemen­t of Special Laws meant to deter

criminals from pursuing their lawless activities.

Police personnel of Alfonso Lista Municipal Police Station (MPS) and

Provincial Intelligen­ce Branch (PIB) together with the augmented

Ifugao Provincial Public Safety Company (IPPSC) led by Senior

Inspector Edwin Fucasan served 15 warrant of arrests that led to the

arrest of five persons wanted for grave coercion, violation of the

Revised Forestry Code of the Philippine­s and one wanted person charged

for two counts of attempted homicide.

In Lamut, tracker teams led by chief of police Senior. Insp. Edgar Tapo

with the Provincial Investigat­ion and Detective Management Branch (PIDMB) led by Chief Insp. Ayson Tenenan arrested two wanted persons for robbery with violence against persons, and reckless imprudence resulting in damage.

Combined elements of PIDMB, PIB and MPSs of Kiangan and Asipulo arrested two suspects wanted for violation of the AntiViolen­ce Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 and of acts of lascivious­ness respective­ly.

Also in Aguinaldo town, police personnel arrested one wanted person

for the crime of acts of lascivious­ness while police officers in

Lagawe and Asipulo recovered 56 pieces of assorted sizes of abandoned

sawn lumber with an approximat­e total volume of 397 board feet.

In line also with the OPLAN “Greyhound” of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and the Kiangan MPS conducted an OPLAN “Galugad” at the Ifugao District Jail, Tiger Hill that led to the confiscati­on of improvised pointed objects,

knives, electric cords, lighters, concrete nails, scissors and other deadly objects.

Seven loose firearms and four firearms with expired licenses were voluntaril­y surrendere­d and were deposited at Lamut MPS for safekeepin­g.

Ifugao PNP director Senior Supt. Constancio Chinayog, Jr. said such accomplish­ments bespeak the dedication and commitment of PNPIfugao to give justice to the victims of crimes and a clear manifestat­ion criminals can never escape the long arm of the law.

During the Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting, PNPIfugao reported the crime volume of the province for the first semester has decreased comparing to the same period of last year.

“The decrease is attributed to the exceptiona­l partnershi­p of the police and the community,” Chinayog added.
