Baguio scouts take city seats
SCOUT officials took over various city hall offices after oathtaking ceremonies at the start of the week with their parents, Girl and Boy Scout of the Philippines officials, teachers and city officials.
The scouts had a kick-off parade, October 1 as scouting month was launched last week.
Scout Roald Eras Xavier Bautista of Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) took over mayor Mauricio Domogan’s office for a day, while scout Jemma Sabelo of Easter College High School (ECHS) sat in for congressman Marquez Go and scout Loida Faith Dalingay of BCNHS was vice mayor for a day.
Scout councilor Arvin Chua of Magsaysay National High School sat in for councilor Leandro Yangot, Jr., committee head for market, trade and commerce and agriculture; scout Agnes Angelica Acay of Don Bosco School of Baguio City (DBSBC) for councilor Edgar Avila, committee head for urban planning, lands and housing; scout Angel Bumangil of Pines City National High School (PCNHS) for the committee head for public protection and safety, peace and order; scout Vhalerie Anne Lee of the University of Baguio Science High School (UBSHS) for councilor Joel Alangsab, committee head for ethics, governmental affairs and personnel; scout Brevard Josh Nawen of ECHS for councilor Faustino Olowan, committee head for laws, human rights and justice; scout Krishna Lobchoy of ECHS for councilor Elmer Datuin, committee head for tourism, special events, parks and playgrounds; scout Jan Michael Tejada of DBSBC for councilor Maria Mylen Victoria Yaranon, committee head for public works; scout Alexandra Krisha Danielle Tagorda of UBSHS for councilor Elaine Sembrano, committee head for health and sanitation, ecology and environmental protection; scout Andrei Kian Tan of PCNHS for councilor Peter Fianza, committee head for education, culture and historical research; scout Chardine Seguiban of UBSHS for councilor Lilia Fariñas, committee head for social services, women and urban poor; scout Robert Sabelo of ECHS for councilor Arthur Allad-iw, committee head for employment, livelihood and cooperatives and persons with disabilities; scout Princess Jun Abata of Saint Louis University High School for councilor Benny Bomogao, committee head for public utilities, transportation and traffic legislation, and; scout Ronald Ivan Valdez of ECHS for councilor Michael Lawana, committee head for youth welfare and sports development.
