Baguio cops investigate EJK
THE Baguio City Police Office [BCPO] is one with the Philippine National Police in its bid to investigate (PNP) and solve cases involving deaths in the city.
BCPO Director Senior Superintendent Ramil Saculles explained that "Regardless of how it is named, the PNP will
continue to investigate if ever there would be cases in the future involving death of victims who were reportedly into the illegal drug activity here in the city".
In the heels of the implementation of "Oplan Double Barrel" the BCPO recorded 2,367 drug surrenderers with 300 graduating from various rehabilitation programs under the Philippine National Police and private stakeholders.
To date, no case of alleged Extra Judicial Killing was recorded in the city of Baguio.
PNP Chief, Police Director General Ronald Dela Rosa who recently visited the province gave prominence that the PNP wants to capture “100 percent” of all suspects alive, stressing there is no use of waging the war on drugs if life itself is not valued.
PNP records showed that out of 6,129 homicide cases, 398 were resolved by the police from July 1, 2016 to Sept 15, 2017 or 6.49 percent were found to be drug-related.
The BCPO encourages the public to continuously support the PNP program on the war against illegal drugs and provide the police with information on any suspicious activity through hotlines in social media (Twitter @PNPBaguio or pcrbbcpo@yahoo.com) or the BCPO Tactical Operation Center 442-1211, 442-7944 or through 0920422-2861.
