Dot launches “Bring home a Friend”

ENTRIES are now being accepted for the Department of Tourism' s" Bring Home a Friend" program which seeks to give incentives by encouragin­g Filipino s to promote tourism.

During the launch of the 1 st North Philip-pines Tourism Forum and Career Fair Tour-ism Department Assis-tant Secretary and Spokespers­on Frederick Allegre ex-plained the program maybe considered asa reunion of sort store-define Philippine tour-ism ."

The success of the program would not be measured in terms of the number of foreign invite es entering the country but on its abil-ity to “em power” Filipi-no s to actively take part in tourism promotions. The contest, which runs from October 15,2017 to April 15,2018, allows Filipino s resid-ing here and abroad as well as expatriate­s based in the Philippine­s to win prizes through an electronic raffle for simply inviting their foreign friends to come visit the Philippine­s.

The DOT views the program to empower-ing the people which is the core strength of our tourism campaign. It’s more than bringing friends and family back home, since it is ash out out to the world to come and seethe Philippine­s.

Prizes to be won for “sponsors ”( Filipino s inviting foreign friends) include an East wood Le Grand Tower studio condo unit( first prize ), an orange metallic Toyota Vi os 2017 Model( sec-ond prize ), or 200,000 pesos worth of gift cer-tificates from Duty Free( third prize)

for “invitees” (foreign friends visiting the Philippine­s) include two roundtrip internatio­nal business class tickets plus two roundtrip domestic tickets to Palawan (first prize), two roundtrip internatio­nal premium economy tickets plus two roundtrip domestic tickets to Cebu (second prize), and two roundtrip internatio­nal economy tickets plus two roundtrip domestic tickets to Davao (third prize).
