Año hails Cordillera warriors of Marawi

ARMED Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Eduardo Ano lauded Cordillerans part of the assult team which terrorists in Marawi.

"The Philippine Gov-

ernment will forever be grateful to the Cordillera Warriors who gave the ultimate sacrifice and who were part of the striking force that finally killed the Isis inspired leaders Maute and Hapilon.”

Ano said in a few days they believe that Marawi will totally be free from terrorists.

"We are saddened with the loss of our brave soldiers specially our Cordillera Warriors belonging to the Special Operations Command and the Scout Ranger Company who led the daily assault against the Isis leaders and eventually liberated Marawi.”

908 casualties coming from the terrorist group was recorded by the AFP, while 155 soldiers and policemen were listed as Killed in Action, and 1,600 were injured in the siege of Marawi.

The AFP called on the cooperation of the people to help the government by informing them of suspicious activities by alleged terrorist groups to prevent another siege from happening again.

"To the relatives of the Cordillera Warriors, we extend our sincerest condolences, thanks and gratitude for their service to the country of these brave Cordillera Warriors. Rest assured that the country will always treat them as our heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice to attain peace for the people of Marawi", the General added.

The government assured the surviving victims of the Marawi siege of government’s assurance of a total reconstruction and rehabilitation of the war torn City.

After Marawi, the soldiers and policemen who were embedded during the siege are set to be assigned in Sulu, Basilian and Maguindanao, to finally liquidate the remaining terrorists groups.
