October born - the most loved and the loving people on earth

THIS October, our Science High class has ten Octoberian­s out of more than 35 classmates. Our chat group is filled with birthday greetings and it will go on until October 28 on the birthday of Delia. She is Manila based and a bunch of us will travel down to join in her celebratio­n.

This year majority gains a senior card; two already got theirs last year and at least two more next year. Why do I say more than 35? During our first year there were 60 students but graduation time there were only 35 graduating. That was even with the addition of Emil Ruff and Joy Tio during our third year. However, our class still consider those who spent time with us, as member of our class, especially during reunions and other class affairs. We have included them in our yahoo group and also in our FB chat group.

The chat group was something very new, which was suggested by Fernando Marzan, when he was with Filu Lubrica Bugante and Florita Badua Pacsi. So they asked me to make a chat group for our class. And wow, every day we get connected and as Linda Carino would say “Diyos ko, as if we were all together in a dorm or something.” The latest message I saw last night was a merienda on the birthday of Clarita Casuga Tabin and there are at least five said they will be there. Other October born in class ‘74 includes Rey Dacones, Cora Cordinera, Cherry Abubo, Juliet Sorisantos Sagulo, Joseph Garcia and Filu. That’s ten of us.

Last Monday was the birthday of Florita and we met for lunch and after that Halo Halo in Mang Inasal, by the time we said goodbye it was past five pm. Stories after stories of the past and the present was swapped by seven of us who were there. Stories of major concerns like “Apo”, health, pains and medicines as well as work still prevail.
