Baguio police prepares for Undas

THE Baguio City Police Office released the scheduled traffic advisory for motorists and commuters who are set to visit their relatives at the Baguio City public cemetery on All Saints Day.

BCPO Director Police Chief Superinten­dent Ramil Saculles said "The road stretch of Quirino hiway corner Buhagan road coming from the Central Business District will again undergo a one-way system of traffic from 4am to 12 mn. of November 1st, with the re-routing of trucks and buses coming from La Union who shall pass through the Sta. Lucia to Marcos Hiway and the circumfere­ntial road going towards the CBD, aside from the use of the Lamtang-Longlong road for those heading towards La Trinidad".

The road stretch will then turn towards Dominican road, Queen of Apostles and Peace road, aside from the Sofia De Veyra street, 1st road of Quezon Hill from Quirino hiway until

Ponce street including the junction of San Luis and San Roque village for its return to the CBD.

Saculles said areas where parking is not allowed are; inside the Baguio City Cemetery, Buhagan road to Ferguson road junction, Ferguson to 2nd road Quezon Hill and San Luis road junction, Queen of Apostles road, BCPO Station 1 to Baguio City Cemetery and San Carlos Heights.

Legitimate parking areas are at the Pay Parking area at Coyeesan, Shangrila Subdivisio­n, Recoletos compound, the left side of Ponce street along Quezon Hill facing the 1st road,the left descending side of Sofia De Veyra street, and the road shoulder of Quirino hiway after the loading and unloading zone from the entrance of the Baguio City Cemetery to the main gate of Bermuda Subdivisio­n particular the left parallel side, and the vacant lot of the Baguio Memorial Park.

"We have assigned traffic beat men and motorcycle cops in strategic areas within the Baguio City Cemetery and along the route leading to the cemetery. We will also pre-position medical personnel and volunteers in specific areas to help us during the observance of All Saints Day in the city" the Colonel said.

Saculles reminded the public to secure their homes before going to the various cemeteries in the city, have their children wear identifica­tion cards before proceeding to the cemetery, and to know the hotline numbers of the BCPO.
