Valley cops heighten security
THE LA TRINIDAD Municipal Police Station has heightened its peace and order operations.
Chief of Police Senior Inspector Benson Macli-ing said they have prepared a deployment plan dubbed as the “Implan Kaluluwa 2017” covering the seven public and lone private cemeteries in the municipality.
“There are eight deployments in cemeteries of which we clustered nearby areas, so far our first deployment covers in Shamolog cemetery with police officers, barangay peacekeeping action teams (BPATs), interns and volunteer groups of the women’s brigade and the Kabalikat Civicom.”
A total of 185 deployed personnel mainly composed of the Philippine National Police divided among the cemeteries of Buyagan, Veterans and Pyramid cemetery, Poblacion, Bahong cemetery, Shamolog, Lubas, Tawang and Ambiong.
Police assistance centers are available at Buyagan-Wangal Junction, Buyagan Cemetery Entrance, Pyramid Cemetery Entrance, Windy Hill Exit, and entrance and exits of the cemeteries.
Macli-ing reminded the public and visitors the following regulations; no smoking, gambling paraphernalia and deadly weapons allowed inside.
Restricted items include shovels “Cleaning should have already been done and there should be no cleaning materials on that day, we have been reminding them of that ever since.”
The public are also advised to throw all garbage within the designated areas.
“For the traffic section, main smooth flow of traffic along thoroughfares going to and from all cemeteries in the area of responsibility. The traffic management shall conduct motorcycle patrol, through the deployment areas and visiting tourism areas,” Macli-ing added.
Governor Crescencio Pacalso said there should continuous checkpoints and monitoring of people who are coming and out in the municipality of Benguet.
