Valley on full alert during Undas 2017
LA TRINIDAD heightens its security on full alert status to ensure the safety of visitors in commemoration of the All Saints Day.
For November 1 and 2, an estimated 300 personnel from the police, Municipal Disaster
Risk Reduction Management, Red Cross, and Bureau of Fire Protection will be deployed for security and assistance.
La Trinidad Municipal Police Station Chief Inspector Benson Macli-ing and Benguet Provincial Police Superintendent Drake Bantag have made inspection of police assistance centers and cemeteries in the municipality October 31.
“There are eight sectors that would cater here in the municipality, all police centers are set up near the cemeteries,” Macli-ing said.
La Trinidad have also increased its joint forces with 285 deployed personnel during Undas composed of Philippine National Police, with its joint force multipliers composed of the Women’s Brigade, Guardians Group, Police Interns, barangay peacekeeping action teams (BPATs), and volunteer groups.
Traffic section team have also established for continuous checkpoints.
Municipal Fire Marshall Senior Inspector Francisco Copes urged the public to be fire conscious, to be careful with the use of fire resistant materials such as candles.
“So far wala pang fire incident within our area of responsibility in Lubas, Tawang and Ambiong. Nakablue alert kami until November 2,” said Copes.
The Office of the Civil Defense have also imposed driving safety reminders for motorists to make sure the vehicle is ready on the road by checking battery, light, oil, water, brakes, air, and gas (BLOWBAG) and bring pertinent documents for vehicles such as driver’s license, insurance certificate while making sure doors, windows are locked especially if children are on board.
Authorities also urged drivers to avoid using phones when driving, use signal and headlights at night, drive carefully and do not drive under the influence of alcohol. Lauren Alimondo
