Lagman hits Roque over irresponsible statement
ALBAY Representative Edcel Lagman on Tuesday described as irresponsible the statement of incoming Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque following his threat to throw "hollow blocks" to those who will criticize President Rodrigo Duterte.
In a statement, Lagman said Roque's demeanor is unlike the composure and moderation of his predecessor, Ernesto Abella.
In an interview with Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson last Sunday, Roque said that attacks against Duterte will not go unanswered.
He said he will throw "adobe" and "hollow blocks" to those who will throw stones at the President.
Lagman believes that Roque should not act as a vicious silencer of the opposition adding that he should realize that dissent forms the bedrock of democratic institutions.
Lagman lashed at the Kabayan party-list Representative a self-contained classroom, share ideas and brainstorm lessons together. You might have a great idea for presenting a lesson, but another teacher might be able to add to that idea and make it better.

"Not in their wildest dreams did his critics wish to be Duterte's mouthpiece," Lagman said.
"No one envies Roque's tragic transformation from a Deputy Minority Leader to an apologist for Duterte and from a human rights advocate to a defender of a gross violator of human rights," he added.
Last week, Duterte announced that Roque, a human rights lawyer, replaces Abella as his official spokesperson.
His appointment was met with criticisms from human rights groups and opposition groups, with the members of the minority bloc of the House of Representative saying his appointment is the end to his masquerade as a defender of the human rights.
