Baguio cops focuses on operations
THE BAGUIO City Police Office have refocused its Police Operations from the war on drugs to the re-management of police operations following the recent ‘hands off’ policy ordered by the country’s top cop General Ronald Dela Rosa.
"Despite the order of the PNP Chief to refocus our attention from the fight against illegal drugs to the aggressive operations against motorcycle riding criminals, but so far from January to present, we have not recorded a single case of riding in tandem criminals," BCPO city director Chief Inspector Ramil Saculles said.
As part of a refocused police manage-
ment operation, BCPO has concentrated on the regular conduct of checkpoints, operational activities on ‘Sita, Bakal’, service and application of warrants of arrests in support to the directive of the Chief PNP.
"The BCPO have also focused its programs on the intensification of internal cleansing operations, solution of homicide under investigation cases being attributed to the drug war, and an aggressive defensive posture of all police stations against threat groups.”
Police records show a total of 29 crime incidents involving motorcycle riding suspects (MRS) were recorded from July to December 2016. Of the 29 cases, four cases were cleared.
From January to October 2017, a total of 14 incidents were recorded with seven incidents cleared and four incidents solved.
Saculles assured the public on its commitment to maintaining peace and order in every community for the public to feel safe and secured in their daily living.
"The public’s social responsibility and cooperation is very vital in crime in the community and that fighting lawlessness is everybody’s concern,” added Saculles.
