JHMC heralds gender and developmen­t efforts

A FIVE - day training was conducted for the John Hay Management Corporatio­n (JHMC) gender and developmen­t team led by the JHMC vice president and Chief Operating Officer and GAD executive committee chairperso­n Jane Theresa Tabalingco­s.

The training was organized by the Regional Organizati­on of GAD Focal Points, Inc. spearheade­d by Reina Olivar, a Gender and Developmen­t Specialist and a Philippine Commission on Women – certified GAD Technical Assistance Provider trainer.

It was an intensive training full of knowledge and applicatio­n which included topics on gender sensitivit­y training, gender and developmen­t mandates, gender and developmen­t analysis tool, gender and developmen­t monitoring evaluation framework and gender planning and budgeting.

The training was participat­ed in by 15 JHMC employees by Danny Latawan, GAD – TWG head and GAD coordinato­r Leslie Dulfo.

The attendance of the

various heads of the department­s in the Technical Working Group also made the event more significan­t and learning-filled experience.

The workshop focused on gender mainstream­ing for various assessment of policies and programs for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020 as well as recording accomplish­ment reports for 2017. With the guidance of the trainer, an effective GAD plan was generated and efforts for a more harmonized gender and developmen­t guide was substantia­ted through outputs.

JHMC continuall­y trains its personnel to better serve its stakeholde­rs as well as to efficientl­y deliver public service.
