Hous­ing fo­rum set Nov. 4

FOUR gov­ern­ment agen­cies are set to ad­dress land trans­ac­tions and home fi­nanc­ing is­sues in a fo­rum slated later this month.

The De­part­ments of Agrar­ian Re­form (DAR), and Agri­cul­ture (DA), in­clud­ing the Land Reg­is­tra­tion Au­thor­ity (LRA), and Home De­vel­op­ment Mu­tual Fund (PagIBIG Fund) will ad­dress th­ese is­sues af­fect­ing hous­ing project de­vel­op­ment dur­ing a busi­ness meet­ing and in­dus­try fo­rum on Novem­ber 24 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Aza­lea Ho­tel in Leonard Wood Loop, Baguio City.

The fo­rum will be con­ducted jointly by the Or­ga­ni­za­tion of So­cial­ized and Eco­nomic Hous­ing De­vel­op­ers of the Philip­pines (OSHDP), Inc., The Or­ga­ni­za­tion of Prop­erty Stake­hold­ers (TOPS), Inc. and the Cen­ter for Hous­ing and In­de­pen­dent Re­search Syn­er­gies (CHAIRS).

“The fo­rum brings to­gether hous­ing de­vel­op­ers, other stake­hold­ers and al­lied sec­tors, with of­fi­cers of DAR,

DA, LRA and Pag-IBIG Fund to fo­cus on the theme: “Un­lock­ing Per­ceived Bot­tle­necks in Hous­ing: Stream­lin­ing Land Titling, Land Use Re­clas­si­fi­ca­tion and Con­ver­sion, and PagIBIG Hous­ing Loan Ap­pli­ca­tion and Pro­cesses,” ac­cord­ing to Marcelino Men­doza, OSHDP na­tional pres­i­dent.

Key of­fi­cials from the Hous­ing and Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment Co­or­di­nat­ing Coun­cil (HUDCC) and the Hous­ing and Land Use Reg­u­la­tory Board (HLURB) will also join the panel dis­cus­sion.

“Bring­ing the hous­ing busi­ness meet­ing and in­dus­try fo­rum to North Lu­zon is in sol­i­dar­ity with the Duterte ad­min­is­tra­tion’s re­di­rect­ion of hous­ing de­vel­op­ment to­wards the re­gional ar­eas and out­side the tra­di­tional cen­ters like Metro Manila,” Ber­nadet Co­quia, OSHDP North Lu­zon chap­ter pres­i­dent said.

For his part, Michael Jansen Abella, TOPS Pres­i­dent, said the fo­rum is also in sup­port of the BALAI Filipino hous­ing pro­gram, the mid-term hous­ing strat­egy and plat­form of the Duterte ad­min­is­tra­tion launched last month.
