Council commends Creative Cities working team

THE TEAM behind the inclusion of the Pines City to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network is being lauded by the local council.

By a motion of commendati­on by Councilor Art Allad - iw adopted by the entire body, the city council has lauded stakeholde­rs who “in one way or another contribute­d to the recognitio­n of the city in the field of arts and folk arts by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.”

Last week, UNESCO declared Baguio as the first Creative City in the Philippine­s which is now among the 64 cities from 44 countries in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan pledged support to the efforts of the city and the Department of Tourism which led the applicatio­n of the city and the creation of the team to work on the inclusion of the city to the UNESCO network.
