Go wants immediate operation of additional lower courts

-

BAGUIO City lawmaker Mark Go requested the Judiciary for the operationalization of additional lower courts in the City of Baguio as well as the renovation of the city’s Hall of Justice.

Two additional branches for both Municipal Trial Court in Cities and Regional Trial Court in Baguio City under First Judicial Region were approved under Republic Act No. 10696.

“T h e operationalization of these additional branches will aid in decongesting the current case load of other branches that would further improve and expedite the disposition of cases in our lower courts,” the solon stressed.

“While we need these additional branches, it would also be necessary to renovate Baguio City’s Hall of Justice that would warrant to the efficient perfor- mance of function of our court personnel to fully realize our objective towards a swift delivery of justice for our people,” Go added.

In a reply letter sent by SC Deputy Court Administrator Raul Villanueva, they completely concur with the operationalization of these court branches while waiting for the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for the issuance of the Notice of Organization Staffing and Compensation Action (NOSCA) for the organization of the said courts to proceed.

“Rest assured we will help the Judiciary to monitor for the release of the said funds to fully materialize the creation of these additional courts in our city. May I also note that the other branches of the government, like the Judiciary, is our able partner in effecting our common objective of serving the people,” Go said. PR
