Singer lands spot in jail, crim student beats guard

A WOULD be singer were collared by police after resisting arrest inside a videoke bar in Baguio City.

Police arrested Ryan Santillano Lagunilla, 30, single, Security Guard under Grandure Security Agency and a resident of Kisad Road on November 16 inside the Real NJEL Videoke Bar, Shanum Street corner Otek Street.

Investigat­ion showed PO2 Jefree Tabangin Tacata together with PO2 Michael Pangod implemente­d curfew hour operations when he saw the suspect singing at the videoke despite the supposed observance of the curfew.

Tacata approached Lagunilla and advised him to stop singing since it was already past curfew.

Despite the advice of the police officer, Lagunilla resisted and continued to sing and uttered arrogant and unsavoury words against the Tacata.

This prompted the police officer to arrest him and was brought to the Police Station 7 for the filing of the case.

A lady guard meanwhile was beaten by a criminolog­y student after pacifying the suspect involved in a brawl with a waiter.

Marvin Santiago Asingwa, female, 22, single, a security guard at Yanganut’s Bar filed a case of physical injury against Dexter Ekman Binlayan, 20, single, UC Criminolog­y student for mauling.

Investigat­ion disclosed Asingwa responded to a commotion between Steve Sapilan, a waiter of the bar exchanging blows with the suspect, Asingwa tried to pacify the commotion but she was instead hit Binlayan until both of them fell to the floor.

The lady guard lost consciousn­ess from the continuous beating she received from the criminolog­y student ad after egaining consciousn­ess, Asingwa sought the assistance from her colleagues thru her cellphone who later came and restrained the suspect.

The suspect is now behind bars.
