Zone IV snatches five golds in 2017 District Athletic Meet

ZONE IV Team managed to bag a total of five gold medals in the just concluded 2017 District Athletic Meet held at Bakun Central School, Poblacion, Bakun last November 9-11, 2017. The team composed of LabinioAcquisio ES, LabinioMariano ES, Bagtangan ES, Tingbaoen-Galisen ES, Batanes ES and Yugo-Bantales ES.

Zone IV reigned supreme in Sipa Takraw amidst the strong defenses of Zone II and Zone V. They successfully had consecutive wins leading them to clinch the supremacy.

Two more golds were added to the medal standing of Zone IV when the Gymnastics and Dance Sports managed to dominate over the opponents. The fourth and fifth gold medal came from chess – girls and strong win in 200 meter run-boys.

A silver medal was hauled from 100meter run-girls and three bronze medals were also won in 200meter run-girls, table tennis single-girls and volleyball girls.

For winning in their events, about 110 athletes from Zone IV were selected to represent Bakun in the upcoming Benguet Provincial Athletic Meet slated in December. They are Iron Joseph Tay-ew, Julan Mayonget, Aldrin Moc-eg and Joner Bentres for Sipa Takraw; Ashlyn Kate Moc-eg and Hyacinth Langbis for Gymnastics, Eunice Manzanares and Angelo Copite Jr. for Dance Sports; Lyka Bayawa for chess and Zyrick Cayat for 200 meter run. Their coaches were Mrs. Donita P. Liwaliw for Sipa, Mrs. Ruth Ann S. Labinio for Gymnastics, Mrs. Cynthia D. Soriano for Dance Sports and Mrs. Reyma T. Vicente for Chess.
