THE BUGUIAS Municipal Police Station is set to recommend to public officials to create an ordinance mandating newly hired individuals to secure and present their police and barangay clearances prior to their work.

Buguias top cop Chief Inspector Cesar Sab-it explained they have sought the help of the municipal council to consider the creation of an ordinance which will require those workers coming from different places to work in the town, to present their working credentials for record and documentary purposes.

Sab-it describes the town to be tremendously progressive in terms of housing, land development, education, health and sanitation, cultural and sociological aspects and racial improvement which is basically agricultural and is one of the major vegetable producing municipalities of the region.

The town’s top cop

meanwhile reported physical injury cases still leads the number of crimes committed in the municipality followed by robbery.

In its war on drugs prior to the hands-off policy declared by President Rodrigo Duterte to the police, it recorded 583 surrenderers with 180 undergoing community based rehabilitation.

"We continue to monitor these drug surrenderers who have been listed during the implementation of Oplan Tokhang and Double Barrel to ensure they will successfully be re-introduced to society after rehabilitation," said Sab-it.

Sab-it added there is no resurgence of the illegal drug trade in Buguias, while its community continues to support its local police in its drive to combat criminality.
