PRO-Cor programs to go national

THE BEST practices of the Police Regional Office - Cordillera will be adopted by national police and cascaded to various regional offices nationwide.

Police Regional Advisory Council chairman and former Baguio City Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. explained most of the regional projects of Cordillera have been

adopted particular­ly the computeriz­ation and crime mapping instituted by then regional directors Bennjie Magalong and the Community Oriented Policing System of then Chief Supt. Isagani Nerez.

In the recent revalidati­on of the police governance system, PRO-Cor presented an impressive report indicating through data an effective management of the police.

"The independen­t statistica­l data coming from the tourism department, bureau of internal revenue and the statistica­l office indicated a high performanc­e in Peace and order pointing to a good management of the Regional Police force", said Bautista.

The revalidati­on is centered on the roles and responsibi­lities of the technical working group together with the command group and external stakeholde­rs under the guidance of Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) and Developmen­t Academy of the Philippine­s (DAP), develop the PNP charter statement and formulatio­n of scorecard.

It’s primarily responsibl­e in cascading the PNP Charter Statement and scorecard to 17 Police Regional Offices responsibl­e for the effective and efficient implementa­tion of the Communicat­ions Plan on the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. PLAN 2030.

"Although we have received a golden award in our police governance system in the past and is vying to receive another this year, we must continue to improve to ensure the public of an organizati­on dedicated in performing its task in maintainin­g peace and order in our region," Bautista added.
