Water utility launches online bill viewing service

-

BAGUIO City residents may now check their water bills online.

In accordance with the objective to provide excellent service to its consumers, the Baguio Water District has recently moved to launch its online water bill inquiry.

Starting December 1, those who have an active account or accounts under BWD may check their current bill at the district’s official website.

BWD General Manager Engr. Salvador Royeca said the development is in line with the automation program of the district which was initiated late in 2015.

“This online bill inquiry is in-line with the District’s automation program, it primarily targets to provide easier access of bills for consumers who wants to check their payables throughan online platform,” Royeca said.

Apart from providing convenience to its immediate consumers, Royeca added easy access of water bills is among the anticipated solutions to BWD consumers who are either out of town or out of the country.

“This will also serve as a venue for our clients who are outside the city and who pay bills through other available payment methods. As much as possible, we would like to accord them a hassle-free access to their water bills,” he added.

To view water bills, consumers may visitwww.baguiowaterdistrict.gov.ph and click on the ‘online water bill inquiry’ box found at the left side of the home menu.

BWD reminds that people may only provide one or more of the following fields when checking their accounts as long as their connection is currently active.

On the other hand, the general public is also reminded that online bills or account viewing may be only posted and checked two to three days after the initial reading of water meters. BWD presently operates on a read-and-bill system of meter reading and uploading of more than 4,100 individual data daily to its system will also need time.

For multiple accounts under one name, BWD advises that account numbers must be provided for validation and correctness of their outstanding balance.

The public is also informed that the selfmitted

printed or downloadableon-line bill will serve only as an initial reference when paying through 7-11 Stores and banks, and cannot be directly used as a substitute statement of accounts with barcodes when paying through other payment centers such as SM Malls.

Last October, the lone water utility in the Summer Capital has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Development Bank of the Philippines to accept payments through any DBP Automated Teller Machines (ATM) nationwide.

Apart from the said improvement, Royeca earlier stated that BWD is gradually developing its present technology to possibly adapt a 24/7 on-line payment system in the near future.

For inquiries on the online bill inquiry and other concerns regarding water bill and water connection people may call the BWD 24/ 7 hotlines at (074)4424929 and (074)4423218, or reach the mobile numbers (0922)840-9765, (0908)865-1504, (0917)679-4929, or visit the Office of the General Manager at their temporary office at the 2nd floor of the Baguio Convention Center.
