Second DepEd-Bakun 2017 Iyaman conducted
DIVISION Memorandum No. 189 series of 2016, the Legal Basis of IYAMAN, Informing Yearly Accomplishments Monitoring Assessment and Networking states that the Division Monitoring Evaluation and Adjustment (DMEA) is also called IYAMAN and will be conducted in the different districts from October to December to be spearheaded by the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) in coordination with the School Governance and Stakeholders/ LGU. The Department of Education- Bakun District conducted IYAMAN on November 28, 2017 at Dap- ayan Hall, Ampusongan, Bakun, Benguet.
The one-day affair started with an opening program followed by the IYAMAN Presentation by Ma’am Molly Ablaza, Public Schools Supervisor (PSDS). She presented all the accomplishments of pupils, teachers and school heads from June to present. Some excel in the district, division and regional level. The Ampusongan National High School Main students won the first place in journalism so they will represent Region CAR in the national level. Mayor Fausto Labinio had his presentation too. He represented that they budgeted 1.6 million for 27 MSB, Municipal School Board Teachers and DepEd Bakun may borrow any time Municipal Vehicles if they need it.
The IYAMAN was attended by 29 elementary school teachers and school heads and four secondary school teachers and their school heads, municipal officials headed by Mayor Fa u s t o Labinio, punong barangays of the seven barangays of Bakun, PTA presidents of the different schools both elementary and secondary headed by Cirilo Ticawa, two cultural masters in the person of Mr. Napoleon Cogoy and DUrano Ngiwas, and the three personnel from division office Ma’am Marie Caroline B. verano, Schools Division Superintendent (SDS), Ma’am Rizalyn A. Guznian Chief Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) and Ma’am Virginia Basatan.
Another accomplishment not included in the presentation but was seen and appreciated by the body were the Grade 12 students of MR. Sonny Dukipen of bakun Central High School who did the decorating of the stage, serving and cooking of snacks and lunch during the event.
Ma’am Verano gave inspirational message to the participants telling that every group has champions in life. She enumerated why teachers are champion: 1. they make classroom happy environment through sports, dance, games, music in school, develop good values among children. If children have strong values foundation, they don’t join bad groups and they are successful. 2. They have heart to teach. 3. Teachers do inspire. 4. Teachers do guidance. 5. They show good relationship to co-teachers and parents. She ended her talk by sharing the verse found in the book of Isaiah 55: 11 “So is my word that goes out my mouth: It will not return empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I send it.”
Ma’am Rizalyn gave inspirational talk before she answered queries from the group especially the group of teachers.
The affair ended with the giving of certificates of recognition to the different stakeholders attended the event. Rosita M. Lozano
