Fight Corps goes 2-0 in URCC BETS 4

TWO BAGUIO fighters continue to uphold the long winning tradition in the country’s first MMA promotions by toppling their rivals recently.

Fight Corps MMA’s Luck Mateo and Dave Banguigui emerged victorious during the Universal Reality Combat Championsh­ip: Battle Extreme Tournament of Superstars at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino recently.

Mateo climbed to 3 - 0 after submitting Charles Sayson in the first round via a rear naked choke to kick off the campaign of the Baguio based MMA gym.

Mateo, fighting in the flyweight division continue to rack up wins in the URCC by defeating up and coming fighters Marc Bernardo and Cris Aplicador earlier this year.

Prior to fighting in the URCC, Mateo also notched a victory in PXC Laban MMA against fellow Baguio boy and Team Lakay fighter Jaybee Ban-eg.

Strawweigh­t Banguigui meanwhile climbed to 4 - 1 after subduing Ariel Oliveros via unanimous decision for his fourth straight victory after losing in his debut.

Since losing to Jefrain Odalio in 2015, Banguigui collected victories after victories against Paul Canol, Gabriel Andres, and Bryle Osaraga.

URCC BETS 4 was headlined by Mark Striegl who scored a unanimous decision win against Gi Sung Kim in their featherwei­ght match up for his 17th win in 19 bouts.

Striegl, now fighting out of Evolve MMA, once trained with Fight Corps MMA.

Arvin Chan also secured submission in the first round against Joel Jabonero Jr., while Roque Mana - ay barely escaped Young Bin Kwon via a split decision as Ariel Lampacan defeated Giovanie Macasling with a knock out in the first round.

In other bouts, Roel Rosauro toppled Alexander Aballe via split decision while Adonis Sevilleno impressed the judges with his unanimous win over Arnel Ylanan.
