La Trinidad district Boy scouts camping held

A total of 164 Boy Scouts from the different schools joined in the 2017 La Trinidad District’s Camporee at Lamut ES on December 15-17.

Upon arrival of the Boy Scouts in the site, registrati­on and pitching of tents and the Opening of the Camping was done. Hiking to Mount Yangbew of Scouts applying their skills in identifyin­g trail signs and compass reading by Scouter Benson Labaddan were done on the second day. Furthermor­e, different skills were demonstrat­ed under the different bases by the Troop Leaders. For Base I, skills in Lashing was taught by Scouter Dorotheo Bankey; Base 2-First Aid was demonstrat­ed by Scouter Nelly Aglamas, Base 3-Vinegar Making out of banana peelings by Scouter Joselito Tabayoyong, Base 4- Strawberry Jam Cooking done by Scouter Alpha Bilanggo, Base 5-Banana Cue Cooking by Scouter Arlene Litawen and Base 6-Knot Tying by Scouter Maximo Coilan.

The scouts also presented their talents, call, yell, and song during the Grand Campfire on Saturday night. Moreover, exercise led by Scouter Tommy Dionisio was enjoyed by the participan­ts.

Applicatio­n of the different skills learned was done on the third day. To end the 3-day Boy Scout Camporee, the troop leaders gave awards to the deserving patrols.

The activity was a success through the leadership of Melchor C. Tican, PSDS of La Trinidad District, Joselito Tabayoyong, the New District BSP Coordinato­r and at the same time the School Principal of Ambiong Elementary School, Nancy C. Rosado, the former District BSP Coordinato­r and the school head of Lamut ES, and of course through the collaborat­ive effort of LGU, PTA, Lamut Teaching Staff and Barangay Officials headed by Barangay Chairman Allan Maliones.
