PNP undergo skills training

SEVENTY-FIVE personnel and their dependents from the Police Regional Office Cordillera successful­ly finished the first ever skills developmen­t training which would assist them for their future livelihood potentials.

Regional Advisory Chairman and Jaime V. Ongpin President Reinaldo "Peter Rey" Baustista Jr. said "There is a need for us to help the police personnel and their dependents in enhancing their skills to give them the economic entreprene­urial edge and have additional income generating opportunit­ies."

The training was

held in coordinati­on with the RAC Chairman who is also the President JAIME V. ONGPIN foundation Inc., the King’s College of the Philippine­s, La Trinidad, Benguet, Technical Skills Developmen­t Authority (TESDA), and Philip Morris Fortune Tobacco Corporatio­n (PMFTC).

Christine Dela Cruz a representa­tive from PMFTC led other distinguis­hed guests from Local Government Units, Automotive Companies, Government Agencies, and other Non-Government organizati­ons who attended the culminatin­g exercises which also served as a platform to present the skilled graduates to possible future employers.

The TESDA certified training was formally opened October last year with no less than the wife of the Chief, PNP Nancy Dela Rosa as the Guest of honor and speaker.

It consists of three courses; Cookery, Automotive Servicing and Electrical Installati­on and Maintenanc­e, and was conceptual­ized to provide additional income generating opportunit­ies for the participan­ts, and ensure their participat­ion in economic activities thru entreprene­urship.

Dela Cruz reiterated "Making a difference, giving back where ever we are is the working principle of our charitable program. Giving back a shared value that benefits the community around the world which we operate. Our goal is to folds, help empower the community, and tackle global problems.”
