PNP undergo skills training
SEVENTY-FIVE personnel and their dependents from the Police Regional Office Cordillera successfully finished the first ever skills development training which would assist them for their future livelihood potentials.
Regional Advisory Chairman and Jaime V. Ongpin President Reinaldo "Peter Rey" Baustista Jr. said "There is a need for us to help the police personnel and their dependents in enhancing their skills to give them the economic entrepreneurial edge and have additional income generating opportunities."
The training was
held in coordination with the RAC Chairman who is also the President JAIME V. ONGPIN foundation Inc., the King’s College of the Philippines, La Trinidad, Benguet, Technical Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Philip Morris Fortune Tobacco Corporation (PMFTC).
Christine Dela Cruz a representative from PMFTC led other distinguished guests from Local Government Units, Automotive Companies, Government Agencies, and other Non-Government organizations who attended the culminating exercises which also served as a platform to present the skilled graduates to possible future employers.
The TESDA certified training was formally opened October last year with no less than the wife of the Chief, PNP Nancy Dela Rosa as the Guest of honor and speaker.
It consists of three courses; Cookery, Automotive Servicing and Electrical Installation and Maintenance, and was conceptualized to provide additional income generating opportunities for the participants, and ensure their participation in economic activities thru entrepreneurship.
Dela Cruz reiterated "Making a difference, giving back where ever we are is the working principle of our charitable program. Giving back a shared value that benefits the community around the world which we operate. Our goal is to folds, help empower the community, and tackle global problems.”
