KISLA Program honoring our golden athletes is a treasure chest event
THE 32nd edition of the NCCB Kafagway International Luminary Award (KISLA) program honoring our golden athletes and sports leaders with golden achievements in several sports arenas overseas last year were on the centerstage last Monday at the CSWDO Silungan Center to recieve their coveted awards.
Brave Combat Federation world champion Stephen Loman the "Super Athlete of the Year 2017"; Mark Sangiao the "Super Coach of the Year"; world wushu gold medalist Divine Wally, and 13 year old Iñigo Anton, the youngest car racing titlist in the Philippines led the cast of 20 Baguio-CAR sports luminaries. Individually and collectively, they gave luster, honor, glory, and prestige to the country and its sports scene. And of course, their course, their loved ones, our city, and to the Cordilleras.
City Mayor Mauricio Domogan and madame Solidad Go, on behalf of her husband, Congressman Mark Go, graced the occassion as the principal guests. They also served as the main award presenters together with City Councilor Benny Bomogao and BARP Foundation president Prof. Federico Balanag.
In their respective congratulatory messages, they, in a beehive, paid extraordinary tribute and gratitude to the skills and prowess of the athletes adn sports leaders. Former ONE World Lightweight Champion Eduard Folayang was given the KISLA Sportsmanship Award while the University of the Cordilleras recieved the "Educational Sports Institution" plum for having produced the most number of athletes and sportsmen who have achieved success both locally and abroad for the last decade.
In my humble and modest capacity as KISLA Executive Chairman, may I again thank all the patronsm and supporters of the past project, including NCCB secretary Primo Agatep who was the emcee during special event. Much moreso, for the pictures in this page this weekend. He did a wonderful job!
Finally, thank you Lord, for the distinct opportunity to serve you and our fellowmen. Again, congratulations to all the KISLA and the Silahis ng Pasko 2017 awardees who shared the limelight!
