Maybank, Master Siomai win BFF float tilt

MAYBANK and Master Siomai bested 24 other floats to win in the small and big float category in the 23rd edition of the Baguio Flower Festival.

Maybank secured the victory for the second time while Master Siomai wins big for the first time.

Prizes have been doubled from previous years to give competing team’s bigger cash to take home as decided by Mayor Mauricio Domogan and Baguio Flower Festival executive committee chairman Councilor Elmer Datuin.

Top winners in the float parade brings home P500, 000 while 2nd and 3rd placers got P200, 000 and P300, 000 for the big float category while the small float contingent­s took home P200, 000, P150,000 and P100,000.

Coca-Cola settled for third while for the big float category, M. Lhulier and Sitel were awarded second and third place respective­ly.

For the street dancing, in the open category, SLU Laboratory High School took home 1st place bagging P300,000 unseating defending champion Tinungbo performers from Pugo Catholic School in La Union going home with P250,000 with Umingan, Pangasinan’s Tribu Rambak trailing on third and winning the P200,000 cash prize.

In the high school division, the University of the Cordillera­s Senior High School bagged top spot and took home P250,000 followed by Baguio City High for the P200,000 cash prize with Pines City National settling for third place with P150,000.

In the elementary school division, Baguio Central School unseated Apolinario Mabini Elementary School winning the P250,000 top purse while the runner up bagged P200,000 as Manuel Quezon Elementary placed third with P150,000.

This year’s theme “Celebratio­n of Culture and Creativity” is in theme with the recent distinctio­n of the Pine City to be included in the United Nations Educationa­l, Scientific and Cultural Organizati­on Creative City Network.
