Tough test awaits Ifugao pride Natuplag
IFUGAO boxing sensation KJ Natuplag will be up for a tough test when he faces Ronnie Campos for the OPBF youth featherweight title slated on April 6 at the La Trinidad Municipal gym.
Natuplag, of the Highland Boxing Gym, will stake his unbeaten record of six wins, including five knock outs against a fellow up and coming boxer whose record stands at seven-3-2 with four knock outs.
“Mapapalaban si KJ dito. Magaling din si Campos, batang Elorde,” said Highland Boxing Gym manager Brico Santig.
Natuplag rose to prominence in the local boxing scene after winning the vacant Philippines Boxing Federation featherweight title in November last year by retiring Danilo Peña before the seventh round.
Prior to his win against Peña, Natuplag defeat of Bener Santig in September which earned him a crack at the vacant 126 pounds Philippine crown.
Four of Natuplag's victory came by knock out with only one going the distance when he won via split decision against Bryan Tamayo for the vacant Philippines Luzon Professional Boxing Association bantamweight title in November 2016.
Campos on the other hand is coming a loss last year against Junki Sasaki in Japan after his knockout victory against Roy Lagarda in September last year.
Dubbed Laban Pinoy 5, the event is co - promoted by Highland Boxing and DMAD Promotions as part of the Strawberry Festival of La Trinidad.
Former WBC orien-
tal bantamweight champion Dayer Gabutan of Besao, Mountain Province will co-headline the event while Bugiuas lady fighter Jessebelle Pagaduan is set for another ring return in the undercard.
Pagaduan last fought in January 2017 winning his last two assignments after earning a draw against Kumiko Seeser Ikehara on Ferbuary 2015 in Osaka Japan for the WBO world female minimumweight title.
The 32 - year - old lass owns a record of nine wins, one loss, and a draw once held the country's female minimum weight crown. Roderick Osis
