CEZA development to benefit NL
TABUK CITY, Kalinga -Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Region, and the Cordillera Administrative Region are set to benefit from the planned development of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) as an industrial and commercial hub and growth center for Northern Luzon.
Engr. Art Libot, Special Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of CEZA announced this during his visit to this province on the occasion of its 23rd Founding Anniversary and 2nd Bodong Festi- val earlier this month.
Libot said they are looking for locators and investors especially multi-national companies seeking to locate their regional headquarters in the Philippines or establish their businesses, taking advantage of the eco-
nomic boom now being experienced in the country.
A Chinese group he said has given intent to develop a township inside CEZA’s 54,000 hectares- lot while a Russian company is interested to build an oil depo.
Other companies are planning to build warehouses in two years, he bared adding that they are also pushing for the dredging of Port Irene for big vessels to come in.
“These activities will directly benefit the three regions particularly the cities of Tuguegarao and Tabuk in terms of goods destination and employment,” Libot said.
CEZA will be hiring the top 20 percent of graduates in colleges and universities from the three regions as well as security forces
Development of CEZA is in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s bid to spur economic development in the country. PIA –CAR
