Team Palaro strikes gold in Panagbenga football

TEAM Palaro gets a much needed boost going into their campaign in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa next month in Ilocos Sur after topping the Ladies open of the Cordillera Binnadang Football Club’s Panagbenga Cup during the weekend.

The Palaro bound squad leaned on most valuable player Kara Alinsug and best striker Aliya Malit to win the nine-side contest by edging CBFC – Baguio City High School in their championsh­ip match.

The fabled Baguio Lady’s squad meanwhile snatched third place while Futbol Iloko settled for fourth place.

Joining Alinsug and Malit in the individual are Kayla Dalisay (midfielder), Yohan Buenaventu­ra (defender), and Powan

Bungay (goal keeper).

In the men’s open, Hassan edged SLU Alumni A for the championsh­ip while SLU Alumni B and Bucky's Bulacan salvaged third and fourth place respective­ly with Appo named as MVP with Selly as best striker, Adrian Nagpala as best midfielder, Aziz as best defender and Amodi as best goal keeper

RC Tanauan Labuyo FA edged Candon City FC for the championsh­ip in the 17 under boys category as Team Palaro and El Tigre salvaged third and fourth place respective­ly.

Julius Nera took home the MVP plum as Christian Gonzales was named best striker while the best midfielder went to Henric Ramahe while Joshua Macaraig and Jerry Zamora were the best defender and goal keeper respective­ly.

The 17 under girls division meanwhile saw Team Palaro edging CBFC – BCHS in their title match while Candon City FC took home third place as CBFC-Guisad Valley National High School settled for fourth place.

Regina Aliping bagged the MVP plumas Kara Alinsug was named best striker while Jan ALiya Malit and Moriel Suguitan was the best midfielder and defender while Bea Luna was the best goal keeper

Team Palaro also snuck the championsh­ip trophy in the 12 under boys competitio­n with Quezon Elementary School bagging first runner up honors while CBFC – BCHS and CBFC - Crystal Cave Elementary School took home third runner up plum.

Kurt Wanson was named the MVP while Duff Lawagan was best striker with

John Vincent Calpotura as best midfielder while the best defender went to Lemer Likigan while best goal keeper was Rey Morales.

In the 14 under boys 3-on-3, Futbol Iloko winning the title against CBFC – BCHS A while CBFC - Quezon Hill and CBFC – BCHS C settled for third and fourth as Cyrex Barzabal bagged the MVP.

The distaff side saw Sampaloc Tanay Rizal took home the championsh­ip against Futbol Iloko as CBFC- Baguio City High School and CBFC- Quezon Hill National High School taking third and fourth respective­ly with Precious Ann Casapao named as MVP.

CBFC-Crystal Cave Elementary School A meanwhile bagged the title in the 12 under girls 3-on-3 while Quezon Elementary School placed second as CBFCQuezon Hill Elementary School A and CBFCBakake­ng Elementary School settling for third and fourth with Samantha Beltran taking the MVP honors.

In the 10 under boys 3-on-3, Quezon Elementary School A tripped Balili FA for the crown as CBFC-Ayaka and Quezon Elementary School B finished third and fourth while Cyrus Dhale Sabala took the MVP honors. Roderick Osis
