Aquision retires at age 65

JOHN Aquision of Guinaoang, Kibungan, Benguet retired in the Department of Education particular­ly at Colalo Elementary School, Colalo, Mankayan, Benguet last March 9, 2018.

They had the turn over or Paalam at Pasasalama­t ceremony last March 14, 2018 attended by the PSDS and school heads, parents and teachers. Meantime, Janera Lansoan, the master teacher in that school took over his responsibi­lities.

He was born on March 9, 1953 from his parents Cabelio Aquision of Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet and finished his Elementary grades at La Trinidad Central School from 1963– 1969. He continued his secondary Education at Mountain State College (MSAC) in 19691974 where he also graduated as Bachelor of Science in Agricultur­al Education (BSAE) in 1974-1979.

He was able to finish his colleged degree through the help of Dr. Julie Cayamdas Cabato of Trancovill­e, Baguio City who extended financial assistance from 1977-1979.

He had been a consistent athlete in the 1500 meters and 5000 meter run qualified him to represent the province to different Regional Sports Meets like the 1975 Northern Luzon Athletic Associatio­n Meet (NLAA) in Laoag, the 1976 NLAA in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, the 1977 NLAA in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, and the 1978 Ilocos region Athletic Associatio­n Meet (IRAA) in Agoo, La Union.

His name was once launched National Sports Magazine when he reigned 3rd place at the Batulao Marathon in April 9, 1978 running for 2 hours and 45 minutes at Lipa, Batangas.

He worked as strawberry technician in Kudasang, Sabah, Malaysia for a year. Then, he worked as an Agricultur­al Technician at a CICM Agricultur­al Assistance Mission in Allaguia, Pinukpuk, Kalinga in 1982 to 1985. He got his permanent position last August 27, 1985 at Alno– Kadoorie Elementary School, L a Trinidad District and later transferre­d at Camp Dangwa Elementary School in 1988.

To be near to his family he transferre­d at Mankayan District last June 1992 at Baguyos Primary School then transferre­d at Cabitin Elementary School in June 1994.

He passed the Refresher course and accreditat­ion examinatio­n of Technical Officials for Palarong Pambansa in 1999 so he became one of the Palarong Pambansa Technical Officiatin­g Officials in the year 2000,2003,2011 and 2012.

He worked as a school head of Balili Elementary School from June 2001 to 2006 where he climbed the ladder to Head Teacher III.

In June 8, 2006, his request to be transferre­d at Colalo Elementary School near his home was granted where he retired after serving 16 years as school head in this school. During his administra­tion, the problem of entry of cows and carabaos have been lessened through his leadership to fence the surroundin­gs, their were sufficient comfort rooms painted buildings with map and other paintings.
