School forms in public schools

-

WHOLESALE /RETAIL ONE may speculate and soon will have the feeling of exhaustion upon writing and reading the same words or character three times. Well this is not new for teachers in the public school, when one writes the same name and grade and other information in a different school forms or format. I wonder why there are so many required school forms containing the same data. In fact, Deped said that the number of required school forms have been reduced. Is there a possibility to have one school forms containing all the necessary data?

Before, teachers need to accomplish 15 forms but has been reduce lately into 8 forms. Three of these forms contain the same data such as the name and grade of the student. These are the card, promotion or level of proficiency and the LIS form. These data are also required to be entered in a computerize format encoded in the Deped’s Learners Information system or LIS for study purposes. The computerize format enables any analyst to study the existing educational status of our country.

The goal of reducing these school forms may have the noble intention of reducing the work of public school teachers. However, such reduction is not sufficient. Reducing school forms further into one maybe better. If one has to examine the data in all the school forms, it contains the learners’ complete name, address, Learner Reference Number, name of parent or guardian, ethnicity, numerical and behavioural grades, school days presence and absence. The rest of the data written are not important. Surely, reduction of school forms will help the government defray expenses in the department of education. Laurence E. De Los Santos
