-

LOCAL football enthusiasts are set to reach out to three individuals hoping to help them in their medical expenses.

Hatched by the Cordillera Binnadang Football Club, the tournament dubbed ‘Sumvac Mondax Football Cup’is set to gather football squads from Baguio, Benguet, Mountain Province and nearby provinces of La Union and Pangasinan.

The event will be for the benefit of Ramon Dacawi, former Baguio City Public Information Office chief, proponent of Baguio ecowalk, helper of indigent patients and advocate of the Baguio Cinderella ladies football team. Dacawi is currently undergoing dialysis.

Parents of two football and futsal players namely Jacquiline Eslao Tailan (lymphoma cancer patient) and Invinzor Silva (rectal adenocarcinoma patient) will also benefit in the two day football tournament.

Trophies and medals will be up for grabs in the eight categories namely 10 under mix, 12u boys, 14u boys, 14u girls, 17u boys, 17u girls, ladies and the men's open.

Also, registration is now open for the upcoming Summer Football Clinics of CBFC for kids six to 12 years old.

Interested teams may contact coach Dave at (0907)8380841 for further details. The clinic will use the FIFA grassroots football program as the instructional approach.

Baguio’s top coaches and former national standouts Aries Bocalan and Gatan Dalang will be part of the coaching staff to be assisted by current college varsity players who was also graduate of the club's football program.

Under the FIFA approach, grassroots football should present the two basic concepts of football: cooperation and opposition and explains grassroots football is an excellent means of physical, motor, psychomotor, mental and social training. Roderick Osis
