BFP Mankayan conducted summer kiddie junior fire marshal workshop

MANKAYAN-In line with the national fire prevention year-round theme: "Ligtas na Pilipinas, ang Ating Hangad Pag-iingat sa Sunog sa Sarili Ipatupad" and in support to the unceasing plans and programs of the Bureau of Fire Protection to attain its mission and vision, Mankayan Fire Station personnel in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Mankayan thru the helping hands of some generous sponsors conducted the 1stMankayan Summer Kiddie/Junior Fire Marshal Workshop last April 11 to 13, 2018 at Municipal Convention Hall and Lepanto Golf Club area.

FO1 Frushell C. Paiking, FO1 Jeston Dexter Dulnuan, FO1 Mavrick Dictaan , FO1 Gemela K. Bayo and Mr. Mateo Estalin of the MDRRM office facilitated the said workshop. Seventy two (72) school children from the different elementary schools within the municipality joined the said workshop.

Some of the topics discussed during the workshop were Introduction of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Fire-fighters job, Firefighter’s equipment, Fire Safety, Fire Prevention, Fire Drill, Disaster, Earthquake drill, Basic First Aid, Fire Extinguisher and Fire Truck operation. Participants also enjoyed their artworks activity, fun action songs,educational games and tried to experience the fire fighting operation.

All the requests and planned activities were properly and peacefully accomplished. The seventy two (72) school children received their certificate of training on their last day during the closing program. Consequently the facilitators confidently assumed that this workshop will serve as an inspiration to all kiddies and junior fire marshals to be a fire safety oriented school children because fire safety education and early awareness campaign for children is one of the key to unlock the golden gate of a fire free and fire safe nation.
