Verify narco list - Gov
WITH 34 Cordillera barangay officials included in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency narco – list, Benguet Governor Crescencio Pacalso asked authorities to further verify public officials involved in illegal drugs.
“What we would ask from the PNP is to verify, not immediately rely on the report but verify particularly public official. Sometimes if it’s public official, it could be politically motivated so they should look into that but in all, everything should be verified first,” said the governor.
Benguet barangay officials were not included in the list as Pacalso said there was a previous list that includes marijuana cul-
tivators but were not included
“I think many of them have stopped,” added Pacalso.
While the government remain serious in controlling and eradicating illegal drugs, the governor hopes it will remain as they are also gearing towards declaring most barangays as drug free.
