Former mayor nabbed in police operation
A FORMER mayor in Mountain Province who went into hiding was eventually apprehended following the week long operation of Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO-Cor) against wanted persons in the region.
Crispin Arazon Fiasilon, 72, married, former mayor of Barlig, Mountain Province was arrested by joint personnel of the Baguio City Police Office Station 5, City Investigation Detection and Management Unit, and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Baguio on May 2 at Upper Rock Quarry.
The arrest was made by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Oscar Herrera, chairperson of Second Branch of the Sandigan Bayan for graft, corruption and robbery extortion with no bail recommended.
Meanwhile, Cordillera’s number eight most wanted the second quarter of 2018 Pablo Bangad, 35, farmer, of Asipulo, Ifugao at Pula, Asipulo, Ifugao was arrested on May 2 by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Honorable Judge Romeo Habbiling of RTC Branch 14, Lagawe, Ifugao with no bail recommended.
Bangad was wanted for the crime of rape.
Kalinga’s second most wanted in the pro-
vincial level was also collared on May 4.
Ramon Balunggay Wingnga, 51, married, of Tabuk City was arrested for murder by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marcelino Wacas of RTC Branch 25 with no bail recommended.
Dumaguing Liggayu Duppa-as, 42, of Lubuagan, Kalinga was also arrested on May 2 by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Milnar Lammawin of RTC Branch 25 for violation of Omnibus Election Code with no bail recommended.
In Tabuk City, Christian Sangdaan Wingnga, 18 years old, of, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga was arrested on May 4 by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marcelino Wacas, RTC Branch 25 for murder.
Police also busted 21 other wanted persons charged for various crimes during the week long operations by authorities.
PRO-COR regional director Chief Superintendent Edward Carranza commended the operatives who displayed dedication and commitment which resulted in the above accomplishments.
Carranza enjoined all members of the PNP to be more aggressive in tracking down wanted persons for them to answer for the crimes they have committed.
