Antons extend winning streak

FATHER and son Carlos and Iñigo Anton seems not getting tired of winning in the race track this year winning four different discipline­s of racing.

Bannering the Castrol-Yokohama team, the 13 – year old, Iñigo is currently the defending and youngest Philippine National Slalom FWD champion.

Iñigo continues his title defense after topping the first two rounds of the FWD championsh­ip in Novaliches and San Fernando.

The grade 8 Baguio Achiever’s Academy student also leads the Philippine Autocross National Novice Championsh­ip after his dominance in both rounds held at Maycauayan.

Just this March, Iñigo Anton stormed into autocross racing

by taking his maiden win in the Novice Championsh­ip during the first leg of the 2018 championsh­ip in Maycuayan Commercial Complex.

Iñigo blasted through the 1.8-kilometer stage using the 190hp Mark YoungMohsp­eed prepared Honda EF on Neova AD08 tires in 57.01 seconds setting the Novice Best Time of the Day over Ryan Ablang (1:00.99) and Brian Ngo (1:01.13).

Anton, the youngest and current National FWD Slalom Racing champion, also registered the 4th fastest time of the day overall in the All Honda class (55.83) against over 100 experience­d drivers from all over the country.

Carlos, on the other hand went back to Rallycross Racing after an absence of over 20 years. The 1996 Rallycross driver of the year showed he still has what it takes and set fastest times in the three opening rounds of the championsh­ips Open Division held in Lubao, Pampanga.

The older Anton is also tied with Milo Rivera for the autocross championsh­ip after the pair split the wins during the first two rounds.

Carlos and Inigo also lead the Race of Champions Present and Future divisions after posting impressive wins during the races held at the Subic Freeport.

“It has been a really tiring but fulfilling first quarter of 2018. We thank the Lord for all the wins we have taken so far. We hope to remain competitiv­e throughout the year and that our cars, the Mark Young-mohspeed prepared Honda and the Kenneth DominadoSu­baru GC8, keep running well.” Carlos said.

Carlos and Iñigo Anton now prepare for the succeeding rounds of the championsh­ip to be held in Sta. Rosa, Cabanatuan and possibly Baguio City.

They are backed by Yokohama, Castrol, Mark Young Racing, Mohspeed, Special Stage, JSD Autosport, Edgesport, Parts Pro, Works Bell, and MP Turbo.
