Choosing the road to fitness

- BOBBY VINLUAN

WE are in the middle of a revolution. People now a days’ are learning to strip off their clothes, putting on work out shirts, lacing up shoes, and do their daily exercises. They go to gyms, run the mile, etc. because they are running for their lives.

People have learned the importance of physical activity. They do exercise because they may be scared or tensed of physical illness, or because they are fat, they exercise because their lives are sedentary, made easy by modern technology.

This exercise revolution as experts say “is the metallic age. We have gold in our hearts, silver in our hair, and lead in our pants.” Now we are getting the lead out, aside from the National Sports Associations and sports pioneer organizations as the YMCA, and other sports organizations sprouted out to cater to the needs of individuals and help them be on the road to fitness.

The fact that people indulge themselves in exercise and sports for health may very well be replaced by exercising for euphoria now a days’ with the development of modern equipments,

programming, etc. they know that they can get more out of it. With the many different fields of exercise that people chooses to indulge with, people can have a change in their state of consciousness, and a meditative state that is almost Zenlike.

Exercising vigorously in a regular basis experts say releases larger amounts of the hormone “epinephrine” which experts call “the chemical basis for happy feelings”. Exercise used in physical therapy was found out to be effective by Physicians, and Psychiatrists use exercise in conventional therapy for patients with mental illness like paranoid, mentally depressed, drug addicts, etc. and found good results. Exercise deals with something that changes personality.

Describing exercise itself, it extends life, but even if it didn’t add a single day to a person’s life it would be worth doing because it enhances the quality of life. Choosing to stick with it can be addictive however; exercise changes your whole lifestyle. Nobody is ever the same, and you never are aware of how out-of shape you have gotten, so don’t over-estimate your fitness level. Get out and be active, “exercise.”
