Loman sets rematch with Mlambo
EXPECT fireworks when Igorot mixed martial arts champion Stephen Loman returns to the Brave Combat Federation.
After winning the bantamweight title in November last year against Guardashan Mangat, the Team Lakay fighter hopes to extend his winning streak against a foe he has beaten earlier.
Loman is set for a rematch with Frans Mlambo in the main event of Brave 13 on June 9 at SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Both fighters have earlier battled each other in September 2016 with Loman taking home a unanimous decision victory against the Irish challenger.
Loman is riding high on a four fight winning streak since April 2016 including a three round unanimous decision against Mlambo in September 2016 for a 9-2 win, loss record including three knock outs and two submissions.
Loman in an earlier interview with Sun.Star Baguio said he has been raring to defend his title and has been joining his fellow Team Lakay fighters in training and crafting their game plan against Mlambo who has also won three straight bouts since losing to the former University of the Cordilleras student.
“I’m raring to get back into action and defend my title,” said the softspoken Loman who became the first Asian to win a belt in the middle east promotions.
In the co-main event, Norman Parke will face Myles Price in the lightweight division, according to Brave Combat Federation.
Parke is a former UFC fighter, and has also seen action in Absolute Championship Berkut, KSW, and BAMMA. He is a black belter in judo and a national champion in Northern Ireland in both freestyle wrestling and judo.
Price, fighting out of Team Ryano has 15 fights in his career with nine wins and has not suffered a knockout and will be making his debut in Brave CF.
