LA TRINIDAD Mayor Romeo Salda has called for the investigation and installation of CCTV cameras within the entrance of LamutShilan Road, Puguis Road following the illegal dumping in the municipality.

“With the help of our police, we hope they will be continuing their investigation on who dumped in the area. We also request the Department of Public Works and

Highways to equip the area with higher fences to abate further dumping,” said Salda

The mayor added they are going to draw the budget from the P500,000 installation of the cameras at the trading post.

Salda also asked the help of residents to report to the nearest police the illegal dumping activities while solicited the help of barangay officials to monitor the area.

On Tuesday, at least 38 butchered dogs were dumped along Lamut-Shilan road.

Municipal Environment and Natura Resources Officer Arthur Pedro said the dumping was done three days ago as foul-smell was already emanating from the butchered dogs.

Retrieval operations was conducted by the local officials and the remains of the dogs were disposed properly.

La Trinidad Municipal Police Station Chief Inspector Benson Macli-ing said this was the result of a checkpoint in Shilan prompting the culprit instead of being caught opted to dispose the 38 illegal butchered dogs.

“We are still appealing to the public who were able to bear witness of the illegal dumping to report to us and be addressed,” Macli-ing said.

Macli-ing added mobile patrol has been on site monitoring the area.
