On wedding gowns and flowers
HE STARTED selling flowers at the age of seven. Along Magsaysay Avenue in Baguio City, he braved the early morning weather in helping his parents dispose bundles and dozens of cut flowers freshly harvested from the Rose Capital of the Philippines, Bahong, La Trinidad.
The flower shop owned by their family has ignited his passion and interest. This motivated him to explore the business industry through product development and innovation. He came up with other services attached to using flowers. In 2013, he opened his Flower Blooms Gowns and Flower shop. With almost one hundred thousand pesos, he started to collect two sets of wedding gowns with the shade of purple and pomelo.
The demand of his business services made him more inspired in helping his community. Aside from being the Barangay Captain of Bahong, Hon. Belmer Elis also shares his passion for event and community organizing. His enterprise made him realized that doing business is a way of alleviating poverty.
In the afternoon of July 25, he will be displaying his collections and creations through a Fashion Show. The show is a part of the 3rd La Trinidad Entrepreneurs’ Summit with the theme, Leveling Up MSMEs for Success and Growth.
The fashion show will not only highlight his business services but will also help shape and recognize the talents of local models in the area. Selected models shall be exhibiting his wedding beauty trends and gowns. He will be sharing his experiences on how he struggled with the challenges of the event organizing enterprise.
Elis is a gem of La Trinidad. He uses and advertises the cut-flower industry of the locality in many of his soon-to-be-married clients.
