More anti-road obstructio­n officers to be deputized

BARANGAY officials were asked to submit at the Liga ng mga Barangay office their list of prospectiv­e anti-road obstructio­n (ARO) officers to be deputized in preparatio­n for a scheduled mandatory training and seminar for deputized officials.

This was among the issues discussed during their monthly meeting held August 3 headed by re-elected Associatio­n of Barangay Council- Baguio City chapter president Michael Lawana.

Also discussed was the accommodat­ion of Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)-Baguio OIC Antonio Jaminola as resource person to give informatio­n, updates and clarificat­ion on issues and concerns regarding the assessment­s and payments made by all candidates in the recent 2018 barangay and SK elections to the BIR.

Consensus of the group on the remaining fund from the barangay mutual aid assistance program (BMAAP) collected from memberbara­ngays on whether or not the amount will remain with the Liga and used for the purpose or be distribute­d proportion­ately to the member-barangays.

A consensus of the body regarding the identifica­tion cards of barangay officials for 2018 to 2020 as to design and amount to be collected was also tackled during the meeting.

The group also discussed the various activities for this year’s Barangay Day Celebratio­n including palarong pambaranga­y, craft and food fair, street dancing parade, photo contest and the physical preparatio­ns needed for the annual event, among other topics.
